Ball Above All! (About Us)
Posted on April 22 2018
Hoopnation was founded in the late 90’s by two brothers and a few of their closest friends. Its humble beginnings started in the San Francisco Bay Area spanning across the bay to Oakland, California. Aside from playing, living, and breathing Basketball… the brothers and their friends just couldn’t get enough. They began to host local tournaments for the youth and adults. They eventually secured business sponsorships hosting the very first Silicon Valley Corporate League. From there they organized countless basketball events including (Urban and Asian) City leagues, as well as Pro-Am basketball tournaments featuring the likes of Jason Kidd, Gary Payton, Bobby Jackson and Shareef Abdur-Rahim. Following in the footsteps of the renowned SF Pro-Am League which featured players like Damian Lillard, Jeremy Lin, Steve Nash, and Steph Curry.
Hoopnation was not only about the game. It was about the culture and the lifestyle. You didn’t show up to the park or the gym just to play. You came to represent and to “Ball Out.” Our company and clothing embody these beliefs, and it is clearly apparent in our designs and apparel. With the support of Ballers from all over, Hoopnation has grown into a global brand and is now being distributed in over 80 countries worldwide. We take pride in every product we bring to market. We will always be Ballers at heart and we will continue to share our love and passion for the game to all our fellow Ballers no matter where you’re from.
Just like you, Basketball is in our DNA.
